Help in making Oxygen Concentrators available for COVID-19 patients
Coronavirus has certainly intensified health-related issues. In the recent era, we have not experienced such an intensive pressure on the healthcare system as has been caused by the outbreak of COVID-19. Comprehending the crisis of oxygen cylinders during the second wave of COVID 19, we stepped in to set up Oxygen Banks across India to provide oxygen concentrators to those in need.
We began the Oxygen Bank Initiative from Kolkata on 16 May 2021. We also extended support to meet the requirement of plasma, hospital admissions, medicines, free consultation with doctors, free of cost transport (ensured availability of cars) to take COVID-19 patients to the hospital, and offered many similar services. Compassionate donors from India and abroad supported us by generously contributing towards our service.
We started with just 10 concentrators in West Bengal and reached a total of 142 concentrators in 50 different locations in India with the generous contribution from supporters. These concentrators are given free of cost to needy people. Gradually, we started Oxygen Banks in other parts of the country covering Maharashtra, Delhi, Gurugram, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Rajasthan. We also donated 500 beds at a COVID-19 Relief Centre in Bilwa, Rajasthan. Your support can help us extend this service to other states of India too.
